A Malaysian-owned speedboat operator running daily crossings from Tanjung Gemok jetty in Pahang to five jetties on Tioman Island β Genting, Paya, Tekek, Air Batang (ABC), and Salang. Two full-cabin vessels, 36 seats each, 60-minute crossings.
Tioman SpeedBoat Sdn Bhd is a Malaysian ferry operator running daily speedboat crossings between Tanjung Gemok jetty in Pahang and Tioman Island β with a crossing time of just 60 minutes. Launched in May 2026, we operate two full-cabin speedboats with 36 seats each, serving five major jetties on Tioman: Genting, Paya, Tekek, Air Batang (ABC), and Salang.
At 60 minutes, our crossing is approximately half the duration of traditional ferries from Mersing, which typically take 2 hours or more. Whether you're travelling from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, or Johor Bahru, our Tanjung Gemok departure point combined with our high-speed vessels offers the fastest route to Tioman Island.
We are headquartered in Pahang, Malaysia, and our home port is Tanjung Gemok jetty β the closest mainland jetty to Tioman Island, located just 52 kilometres from the island's western coast. Tioman SpeedBoat is licensed and regulated by the Marine Department of Malaysia (Jabatan Laut Malaysia) and operates in compliance with Malaysian maritime safety standards.
Four reasons we operate from Tanjung Gemok jetty in Pahang rather than the older Mersing terminal in Johor.
~3.5β4h drive via the LPT2 East Coast Highway, versus 4.5+ hours to Mersing.
The LPT2 highway is newer, less congested, and significantly safer for the journey down.
Tanjung Gemok is closer to Tioman than Mersing, contributing to our faster 60-min run.
Tanjung Gemok was redeveloped with modern parking, waiting areas, and ticketing facilities.
Identical full-cabin vessels designed specifically for the Tanjung Gemok β Tioman route.
Air-conditioned, padded, airline-style legroom in a fully enclosed cabin.
Enclosed cabin shields passengers from sun, rain, and sea spray.
Redundant propulsion for safety, plus the speed needed for a 60-minute crossing.
Separate compartment for backpacks, dive gear, and suitcases.
Marine Department certified life jackets, one per passenger.
Marine-grade navigation and weather-monitoring radio communication.
Tioman SpeedBoat operates a single-route, multi-stop service across Tioman's western circuit.
Tioman SpeedBoat operates under the licensing and oversight of Malaysia's maritime authorities.
Daily 7:00 AM β 9:00 PM during the operating season (1 March to 31 October).
