The fastest and most direct route from Kuala Lumpur to Tanjung Gemok jetty is via the LPT1 East Coast Expressway (the Karak–Jabor stretch operated by ANIH).

If sailing on a peak weekend, depart KL early Saturday morning (before 5 AM) to avoid Friday evening congestion and arrive at Tanjung Gemok rested.
There is no direct public bus to Tanjung Gemok jetty. Options below are the practical alternatives for travellers without a car.
Take long-distance bus from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) or Pekeliling to Mersing. Operators include Transnasional, Causeway Link, KKKL, S&S International Express, and Plusliner. From Mersing, take a taxi to Tanjung Gemok jetty.

SKS Airways ceased operations in early 2025 and there are no scheduled commercial flights between Subang Skypark and Tioman Airport (TOD). Berjaya Air operates private charter from Subang only — impractical for individual travellers. The speedboat from Tanjung Gemok is the standard onward connection.
Driving 3.5 to 4 hours starting at 3 AM is unsafe and risks missing your sailing due to fatigue or unexpected delays.
