Important infant policy

Travelling with Infants

Infants have specific safety requirements that apply for the full duration of the crossing. Please read these rules carefully before booking family travel.

Terms & Conditions — Section 4.3

“Infants aged between 30 days and under 2 years (24 months) on the date of travel may travel at the infant fare and must be seated on an accompanying adult’s lap throughout the crossing. Only one (1) infant is permitted per accompanying adult.”

One infant per adult — no exceptions. If you are travelling with two infants, two accompanying adults must be booked on the same sailing. This rule is strictly enforced for the safety of all passengers on board.

Minimum age is 30 days. Newborns under 30 days old are not permitted to travel on our speedboats for safety and health reasons. If you have concerns about travelling with a young infant, consult your paediatrician before booking.

Original birth certificate is mandatory. The original must be presented at boarding to confirm the infant’s date of birth. Photocopies are not accepted. Photo ID is not required for infants — the birth certificate alone is sufficient for boarding.

Step by step

How to Book Family Tickets

Booking for children and infants uses the same online process as adult tickets. Age category and passenger details are entered during checkout.

Practical advice

Family Travel Tips

From our team’s experience helping hundreds of families reach Tioman Island.

Before booking
  • Confirm exact birth dates for all children — age is calculated on the date of travel, not the booking date.
  • Verify all IDs and birth certificates are originals and will be available on travel day before completing payment.
  • A child turning 12 the day before sailing pays the adult fare. Factor this into your cost estimate when comparing dates.
  • For 2 infants, you need 2 accompanying adults — the one-infant-per-adult rule applies to each booked sailing.
On the day
  • Pack snacks for children to eat at the jetty before boarding — outside food is not permitted on board.
  • Bring a change of clothes for infants and young children in your personal item, not stored in the cargo hold.
  • The cabin is air-conditioned for the 60-minute crossing. A light jacket or blanket for infants is recommended.
  • For children prone to motion sickness, mid-morning sailings tend to have calmer sea conditions. Bring appropriate medication if needed.

Single Parent Travel

Single parents and guardians travelling alone with children are fully permitted with the correct documentation.
