Times are local (Malaysia, GMT+8) and may change with weather or sea conditions. Availability shown is indicative — final seats and fares are confirmed at booking. Every departure listed serves Salang: “Direct” sails straight there, “Circuit” works the whole west-coast run, and “+1 stop” or “+2 stops” means the boat calls at that many other jetties on the way, so allow a little longer. Your jetty is carried through to booking and named on your boarding pass.

Tioman Speedboat Schedule — Tanjung Gemok to Tioman

This is the official monthly Tioman speedboat schedule for crossings between Tanjung Gemok jetty on the Pahang mainland and Tioman Island. The timetable above lists every published sailing for the month in both directions — Tanjung Gemok to Tioman (outbound) and Tioman to Tanjung Gemok (return) — with live seat availability so you can see at a glance which departures are open, selling fast, or sold out before you book.

Tioman SpeedBoat runs a modern, air-conditioned full-cabin vessel on the route. The sea crossing takes about 60 minutes to Tioman and about 90 minutes on the return — making it one of the fastest ways to reach the island. Sailings are published per jetty: some run direct to a single jetty, others work the west-coast circuit and call at several jetties on one run, in which case the times above already cover those stops.

Sailing times & how often boats run

Departure times change with the date, the season, and the jetty, which is why this page is driven by the live schedule rather than a fixed printed timetable. On most days there is a morning sailing out to Tioman and an afternoon sailing back to the mainland, with additional departures added on weekends, public holidays, and Malaysian school holidays when demand is highest. Tap any day in the strip (on mobile) or any date in the calendar (on desktop) to see the exact published times for that day.

Tioman jetties served on this route

The route serves five western Tioman jetties: Genting, Paya, Tekek, Air Batang (ABC), and Salang. Because sailings are scheduled per jetty, the times that matter to you depend on where you are staying — a departure that runs direct to Salang is not a departure you can take to Genting. Use the jetty picker at the top of this page to narrow the whole month to the sailings that serve your jetty, both the direct runs and the circuit sailings that call there along the way. The satellite bays (Nipah, Juara, and Mukut) run on selected sailings only, and appear in the picker in their own group.

Jump straight to a jetty's schedule:

When the speedboat operates

Sailings run from 1 March to 31 October each year. Service is suspended during the north-east monsoon season (1 November to 28 February) in line with Malaysian Marine Department safety rules, so no sailings appear on the schedule for those months. Times shown are local Malaysian time (GMT+8) and may shift with weather or sea conditions.

How to book from the schedule

Booking is online and instant. Pick an available departure on the timetable above and you’ll go straight to the booking page for that date and route, where you can select seats, pay securely, and receive your e-ticket by email. New to the route? See our full guides to the Tanjung Gemok → Tioman and Tioman → Tanjung Gemok crossings, or read how to get to Tioman from your city.

Speedboat schedule — frequently asked questions

Departure times vary by date, by season, and by the jetty you are travelling to. This page shows the live, published schedule for each day — most days have a morning sailing from Tanjung Gemok to Tioman and an afternoon return, with extra sailings added on weekends, public holidays, and school breaks. Pick your jetty above to see only the sailings that serve it, then pick any date to see the exact times for that day.

Use the jetty picker at the top of the schedule. Choosing Genting, Paya, Tekek, Air Batang (ABC), Salang, Nipah, Juara, or Mukut filters the whole month down to the sailings a passenger for that jetty can board — both the direct runs to it and the circuit sailings that call there along the way. Choose "All jetties" to go back to the full picture, where every departure is labelled with the jetty or jetties it serves.

The crossing from Tanjung Gemok to Tioman takes about 60 minutes to any of the west-coast jetties — Genting, Paya, Tekek, Air Batang (ABC), and Salang — and the return crossing takes about 90 minutes. A sailing that runs direct to one jetty makes that crossing without stops; a circuit sailing serves several jetties on one run, and those times already cover the drop-off and pickup stops. Every departure on this page is labelled with the jetties it serves, and your search results and boarding pass always name your jetty.

Yes. Tioman SpeedBoat operates from 1 March to 31 October each year; sailings are suspended during the monsoon season (1 November to 28 February) under Malaysian Marine Department safety rules. Frequency also increases during weekends, public holidays, and school holidays, and which jetties are served on a given day changes with demand.

Yes. Every available sailing on this timetable links straight to the booking page for that date and route, carrying your chosen jetty through with it. You choose your seats, pay online, and receive an instant e-ticket by email.

Each departure has a coloured dot: green means seats are available, amber means the sailing is selling fast, and red means it is sold out. Sold-out and past sailings are shown but cannot be booked.

Sailings frequently sell out on weekends, public holidays, and school breaks, so we recommend booking as early as possible. Direct sailings to a single jetty are usually the first to fill on a busy weekend. Walk-in tickets are sold at the jetty only when seats remain.
