Eat before you sail

Food stalls and warung within walking distance

There is no formal food court inside the terminal, but several stalls operate within a 1–3 minute walk.

Most stalls are halal and operate from approximately 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Pricing is local and reasonable. Cash is preferred — some stalls accept Touch ‘n Go eWallet but card payment is rare.

For more substantial meals, the town centre of Kuala Rompin (5 minutes’ drive) has additional restaurants, including seafood specialists and chain coffee shops.

Early or late sailings

Tips for early-morning departures

If you have a 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM departure, food stalls may not be open at that hour.

  • restaurantEat before leaving your hotel. Most accommodation in Kuala Rompin and nearby Kuantan offers early breakfast or packed breakfast on request.
  • cookieBring snacks. Pack non-pungent, non-messy snacks for the wait at the jetty — not for eating on board.
  • water_dropHydrate beforehand. Having water ready is more important than caffeine on a 60-minute speedboat crossing.

The same advice applies for very late afternoon sailings — food stalls may close after 8:00 PM.
